We have been collecting feedback over the past few months that some of you may not be receiving our NETIP Email Blasts informing you of our upcoming events and news. If you are experiencing this problem, the solution may be found through the spam filter of your email account. Users of Yahoo accounts seem to be experiencing the most difficulty.
How do I check if Yahoo is blocking email blasts from NETIP Cincinnati?
Follow the steps below to see if Yahoo is blocking our emails. Please note that you cannot simply check your "Bulk Mail" folder - you must follow these steps.
- Login to your Yahoo Mail account
- Make sure that you are in the standard version of Yahoo Mail, not the Beta Version. To check which version you are using, notice the Yahoo mail logo. If the logo states "Beta", click on the link on the top left, "Switch Back", to temporarily switch to the standard version.

Beta Version - NO |
- Once you're in the standard version of Yahoo Mail, go to your Inbox
- On the upper-right side of the screen, select "Options"
- On the left navigation entitled "Options", select "Mail"
- In the middle of the screen, select "Blocked Addresses"
- The next screen will show all of the addresses that Yahoo currently blocks in your account. Scroll through the list - if you find either netipcinti@yahoo.com or info@netipcincinnati.org, then select "Unblock Addresses"
- Once you go back to your Inbox, this should save the address changes and you should receive our emails.
What if have an email provider other than Yahoo?
Many email providers (Gmail, Hotmail) have a similar system of blocking addresses. Make sure to look for the list of blocked addresses rather than simply checking the bulk mail folder. Further questions can be directed to rohit@netipcincinnati.org.
